My name is Abby Mitchell, I am currently a junior at Kansas State University, majoring in Agricultural Economics with a specialty in Food Science as well as a secondary degree in Global Food Systems Leadership.

 

I am a creative problem solver who has a desire to be a part of the team that will end world hunger. I am a non-traditional agriculture major, that fell in love with agriculture and all it has to offer while participating in the World Food Prize Program. The World Food Prize program was ultimately my spring board toward my Ag. Economics major. It also placed a desire in my heart to work on food insecurity issues by helping to ensure a safe and sustainable food system for future generations and I think this is something that I can help attain by providing a new perspective to agriculture. At the end of the day this is what keeps me motivated and helps to increase my desire to learn, create and innovate.
